Todor Enchev



Chief assistant professor of Christian Archaeology and Art at the Faculty of Theology, “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo. I received my BA degree in Theology at the same University and pursued my postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Theology of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, gaining an MA in Theology. Forthcoming PhD defence.

I have participated in archaeological excavations at the mediaeval monastery of “Karaač teke” near Varna, Bulgaria, under the supervision of Prof. Kazimir Popkonstantinov of the University of Veliko Tarnovo (2001-2008), and in Preslav, under the supervision of the same professor (2006 – 2007).

My main research interests are in the field of early Christian art and archeology, and history of Christian art.

I am secretary of Eikona group – an organization of iconographers, who are professors at European universities.

I have translated numerous theological texts from Greek into Bulgarian.
